The Goal
Many chocolate lovers and seekers will understand the very real quest of finding luxurious alcohol free and vegetarian chocolate. That is where Irewole comes into the picture. The founder, being a Muslim Nigerian woman, is all too familiar with this struggle decided to create a unique brand of delicious chocolates that is both vegetarian and halal.
One of Irewole’s goal is to provide a space in which those with specific dietary requirements (such as halal, vegetarian, and alcohol-free) can purchase affordable luxurious products without the need to go through the burdensome process of googling each and every ingredient.
What does Irewole mean?
You might be wondering what “Irewole” means and how the name came out. Irewole pronounced [ee-ray-woh-lay] means goodness enters/goodness has entered the home in the Yoruba language (a language predominately spoken in West Africa, specifically southwestern Nigeria by the Yoruba tribe).
Breaking the word down:
- Ire means goodness
- Wo means entered
- Le/ile means the house or home
It was important for the founder that she not only follows her Islamic identity but also stay true to her Yoruba roots.
